VISIT CARTMEL

The historic Priory village of Cartmel, a picturesque medieval village renowned as a high quality food destination with four pubs and three restaurants and famous for Cartmel Races as well as its quaint architecture and ancient buildings.

With easy road access to the amenities that South Lakeland and the Lake District National Park have to offer. There are good road communications with the M6 motorway at Junction 36 being approximately 20 minutes away.

 

The lively village offers a range of character shops, eating and drinking places including Cartmel Village Store famous for its sticky toffee pudding, The Red Pepper & Hot Wines Shop, Cartmel Cheeses, Cartmel Micro Brewery and the Michelin star restaurant, L ‘Enclume.

The village has a convenience shop opposite the Pig and Whistle pub, with more extensive shopping facilities to be found at Grange-over-Sands, a five minute drive away.
